Squeezed between the Rutor, the Grande Sassière and the Grande Rousse, Valgrisenche is known as the snowiest of the valleys in the Aosta Valley. The low temperature in the winter and spring months means the snow stays powder for long periods. Away from the crowded resorts, this town lies in a spectacular location between glaciers and verdant forests. Near the town of Valgrisenche, (1664m) are 8 km of pistes, particularly suitable for beginners and children, which follow the pine forest boundary in an area of unspoilt beauty. The 3 ski lifts reach an altitude of 2000 metres altitude and have an hourly capacity of 2100 persons. Also, the rock faces and glaciers of Valgrisenche make an ideal place for ski alpinism and heli-skiing with an expert mountain guide.
